Wide Web and Internet. Originally titled CyberianOutpost.com, they switched
to the shorter and web happier name Outpost.com. Recently starting an auction
and racing site, Outpost.com is one of the leaders of e-commerce on the
Internet.

The Site
Outpost.com has one of the toughest jobs on the Internet, being a store
on the computer that actually sells you computer items. It's the equivalent
of trying to sell you a Bigger TV, while you're watching TV! What separates
Outpost is that it is very efficient. If you want it, Outpost.com has it.
There are very few things they don't have. The site has PC and Mac hardware,
software from leading companies. They even have games for N64, Playstation,
and the future Dreamcast systems. The site is very searchable and very
friendly to novices and computer experts. (nerds?) The Prices are competitive
and they have a 100% satisfaction guarantee. A part of the site I enjoy
is the "Manufacturer Showcase" at the bottom of the page. It allows you
to see the best products by the manufacturers with the highest quality.
Each company has its own page with its own featured items.

Design
It seems Outpost.com believes that space on a web site should be an
endangered species. There site looks like an ad for your local flea market,
they want to make sure they fit as much information and graphics onto that
small space as they can. I'm not saying this is a bad thing, but sometimes
its good to have space to break things up a little. It's hard to focus
on any one thing on the site. I like the bold gold color though.
Ordering
Now that we have found our appropriate hardware it's just about time
to order an item. Outpost.com runs on the standard "shopping cart" system,
as you go along you put items in your shopping cart and when you are done
you go to the checkout. Once you are in the checkout you have to fill out
the normal information, nothing real easy or real hard with ordering at
this site. This site has relatively reasonable shipping prices.
Overall Assessment
If you enjoy upgrading your computer system, or simply need to get
a computer system this is the site for you. With every piece of computer
hardware you could want and reasonable prices, Outpost.com should fulfill
all your Internet shopping needs. Outpost.com is definitely a site that
will be around well into the millennium, and only continues to improve
every year.
